Please join the Museum of People, Place, and Time for an opening reception for our exhibit "Fantastic Flintknapping: the Art, Science, and Tradition of Lithic Technology." Light appetizers and beverages will be served.
Flintknapping - making stone tools and ornaments in traditional ways - is the oldest and longest-running technological expression in the world. In an age of smartphones and same-day delivery, a select few people carry the knowledge of how to flintknap forward. Some do it to teach the next generation. Some do it to make beautiful objects. Some do it to better understand the past. All of them have devoted their lives to honing their craft. Come learn their stories, told through objects they have made and knowledge they have shared.
