Beyond the Lines of Blaschko: Understanding Segmental and Mosaic Skin Patterns Through Embryology and Genetics

1. Recognize patterned skin findings in children as signs of somatic mosaicism and understand how their distribution reflects embryologic development.
2. Describe how earlier genetic mutations lead to more widespread skin involvement and a higher risk of systemic features.
3. Use knowledge of mosaicism to guide workup, genetic counseling, and screening for associated conditions in affected children.
