In honor of Juneteenth, the Hannibal Square Heritage Center invites the Orlando Canes Community to a special Open House commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth marks the historic day when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, announcing that the Civil War had ended and that all enslaved people were free. This came more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.
Guests are welcome to enjoy refreshments and join guided tours of the Heritage Center as we reflect together on this pivotal milestone in American history.
