Add to calendarJoin Equipoise, Pitt's Black and African American Faculty and Staff Affinity Group, as we participate in the WPA Juneteenth Grand Jubilee Parade in celebration of Juneteenth and the enduring legacy of Black freedom, resilience, and community.
The annual parade honors the end of slavery in the United States and commemorates the ongoing pursuit of equity and voting rights. Participants will march from Freedom Corner through Downtown Pittsburgh and conclude at Point State Park alongside community organizations, cultural groups, dancers, steppers, marching units, and other participants from across the region.
Faculty, staff, retirees, family members, friends, and allies are welcome to join Equipoise in the march.
Parade Route:
- Begins at Freedom Corner (Crawford Street and Centre Avenue)
- Travels through Downtown Pittsburgh
- Concludes at Point State Park
Important Information:
- Participation is free.
- Comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate attire, and water are recommended.
- Participants may join for all or part of the route as needed.
- Additional details regarding lineup location and arrival instructions will be shared with registered participants closer to the event.
