A heartfelt story of a daughter in search of her father, "Daughter of the Light" follows Metok Karpo as she leaves her orphan boarding school for the high pastures of eastern Tibet. Burdened by family tensions and unanswered questions, she undertakes a quiet journey that takes her inward into her own light. "Daughter of the Light" is the first Tibetan-language documentary film to receive theatrical release across the People's Republic of China.
The screening of the film will be followed by a discussion with the filmmaker, Khashem Gyal.
