Academic coach/tutor for 8th grader

Stanford faculty family is seeking a responsible, engaging Stanford undergraduate or graduate student to work with an 8th grade student after school during the 2026–27 school year.

This is more than a homework-help position. We're looking for someone who can provide consistent structure, help monitor assignments and upcoming tests, explain concepts when needed, and encourage good study habits and increasing independence.

Responsibilities include:

• Meeting approximately 1 hour after school, 4 days/week
• Reviewing assignments, grades, and upcoming tests
• Helping plan and complete homework
• Tutoring across middle-school subjects as needed
• Sending regular updates to the parent

We're looking for someone who is warm, organized, dependable, and enjoys working with adolescents.

Location: Stanford campus (our home or nearby library/café)
