Peaceful Room in Portola Valley Retreat — 20 Min to Stanford/Palo Alto

We have a vacant bedroom available in our beautiful 3-bedroom home, tucked into the wooded hills above Stanford. It's quiet, green, and a genuine escape from the bustle of the Bay Area. It is walking distance to popular trailheads and open spaces, while still being a short drive from campus and downtown Palo Alto.

About us:
We're a couple (33F, 40M) — she's a postdoc at Stanford, he works in the service industry. We're easygoing, friendly, and enjoy growing vegetables, cooking, hiking, surfing, and camping. We keep a clean, low-drama household and are happy to share tips on our favorite local trails and spots. Our bedroom, office, bathroom, and private deck, are on the second floor.

Who we're looking for:
Ideally, someone who travels to the Bay Area regularly and wants a relaxing home base for their visits — daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. We don't mind if you want to keep entirely to yourself, or enjoy a bit of company from housemates, we just ask that you are someone who is respectful of others, as we are. We are also open to short-term leases, and even a longer-term lease for the right person.

The room:
On the first floor
Available furnished (queen bed, lamps, bedside table) or unfurnished
Large built-in wardrobe

Private en-suite bathroom
Cooking equipment provided for short-term stays if needed

The house:
Fully equipped kitchen and dining area
Washer and dryer
Downstairs outdoor patio space with furniture for eating and relaxing
We handle all cleaning of common areas and general maintenance — just clean up after yourself when cooking/eating/enjoying shared spaces, and we will do the same
20-minute drive to Stanford/Palo Alto
Dedicated parking space (a car is required — the house is up a hill not served by bike routes or public transit)

Price
$2,500/month, all-inclusive: utilities (wifi, water, gas, electricity), common-area cleaning, and maintenance. Pro-rating available for shorter stays.
