Seeking a One-on-One Sabre Fencing Mentor for an 8-Year-Old Girl (Paid Position)

I am looking for an experienced and enthusiastic sabre fencer to serve as a one-on-one mentor for my 8-year-old daughter, who is currently training in competitive sabre fencing.

Ideally, we would love to connect with a current Stanford University student who has competitive fencing experience and a genuine passion for working with children.

We are hoping to establish a long-term mentorship with weekly sessions focused on improving her fencing skills, developing competitive strategies, and preparing her for tournaments.

Beyond technical training, we are looking for someone who can also be a positive role model, encourage her confidence and sportsmanship, and build a genuine friendship with her.

Ideal qualifications:

  • Strong background in competitive sabre fencing
  • Experience competing at regional, national, or collegiate levels
  • Patient, encouraging, friendly, and enthusiastic about working with children
  • Available for weekly, in-person sessions
  • Interested in building a consistent, long-term mentoring relationship

Location: San Mateo / Palo Alto / Stanford area
Schedule: Flexible, approximately once per week
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, negotiable based on experience

If you are interested, I would love to hear about your fencing background, competitive experience, and availability.

Thank you!
Hope
