Description

Klein Mantra Race XL Carbon Full-Suspension Mountain Bike - XTR / Vintage

The Klein Mantra Race is one of the most distinctive full suspension mountain bikes ever made. Its carbon monocoque frame uses Klein's Unified Rear Triangle (URT) suspension design, which delivers excellent climbing efficiency and a one of a kind ride feel, with about 5.3 inches (135 mm) of rear wheel travel, a lot for its era. This XL example is built with Shimano XTR shifters, the original Hayes 22mm disc brakes, a Fox Float RL rear shock, and Rolf Dolomite wheels. Klein, founded by Gary Klein and built in Chehalis, Washington, pushed frame design further than anyone else in the 1990s, and the Mantra Race remains one of the most collectible bikes of its era.

Condition: used, with normal cosmetic wear. It has had some use, and we left the parts as they are so the next owner can set it up their way. The drivetrain has some use and the shocks could use a refresh, but everything works: it pedals and shifts well, the brakes are fully functional, the rear shock holds air, and the swingarm bushings are smooth with no play. Brakes and drivetrain tuned. The original Hayes 22mm disc brakes are intact and working, a rare find.

Fully refurbished and ready to ride. Sale benefits charity. Leave a phone number.
