My name is Alessandro, I'm a 29-year-old PhD student from Italy (Milan) coming to Stanford as a visiting researcher in Earthquake Engineering from September 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 (5 months). I'm looking for a furnished room in a shared house or apartment, somewhere withing biking or walking distance to Stanford in the Palo Alto - Menlo Park areas. My move-in date is flexible, ideally August 27; September 1 also works well if that lines up better with what's available. I'd also consider a shorter-term arrangement to bridge the gap while I keep looking for something that fits my full stay. My budget is ~$2,000/month. A bit about me: I love playing sports, especially tennis and padel, and I enjoy exploring the surroundings and going on trips, from trekking and hiking to skiing. I'm tidy, clean, very easygoing, friendly and respectful of shared spaces. I'm always up for sharing a dinner with roommates, while I also value personal space. I'm currently in Italy and will be relying mostly on video calls before arrival, but I'm happy to provide references and can share more about myself.
