Description

Raleigh Talus 3.0 hardtail mountain bike with an aluminum frame, 26 inch wheels, a front suspension fork and 21 speeds, set up for everyday riding with a rear rack and basket.

  • 26 inch wheels on an aluminum hardtail frame with an SR Suntour XCT suspension fork, which takes the sting out of curbs, cracked pavement and washboard dirt roads.

  • A rear rack with a wire basket is already mounted, so groceries, a bag or a day of errands ride on the bike instead of on your back.

  • Shimano triple crankset and trigger shifters for 21 speeds. The Talus 3.0 left the factory with 42/34/24 chainrings and a 7-speed 14-28 cassette. That puts the lowest gear near 22 gear inches, low enough to climb steep hills seated, and the highest near 78 gear inches, roughly 20 mph at a 90 rpm cadence.

  • The front tire is a CST Metropolitan Palmbay city tread with a reflective sidewall stripe. The rear is a Continental Town & Country.

  • V-brakes front and rear. This is the 26 inch, V-brake generation of the Talus 3.0, not the newer Talus 3 models with 27.5 or 29 inch wheels and hydraulic disc brakes.

  • Wide platform pedals work with everyday shoes. A stem riser raises the handlebar for a more upright riding position, and a teal bell is mounted on the handlebar.

  • A good match for commuting, errands, campus riding and bike paths. As an entry-level hardtail, it is not meant for technical singletrack.
