Hi!
We are a group of early to mid 20s students (mostly) looking for a new roommate! Our current lease is active through June 2027 and we plan to renew next year so this option is available to you as well. The house is located in East Palo Alto and is in close proximity to Ikea, Cardenas, Mega Mart, and the Bayland trails. The house is not restricted to students though, so all are welcome to reach out! Currently there is four of us and this room would fill the fifth spot. Please see more details about the house and our group below:
House:
• 5 Bed/ 3 Bath (plus 1 room that converts into a guest room)
• In-house washer and dryer
• Spacious backyard patio
• Raised garden bed with area for hanging as well
• Fruit trees (pomegranates, kumquats, cactus fruit)
• Driveway accommodates 4 cars (free) plus free street parking
• Large garage for storage
• $1,047/mo
• Utilities average $100-150 per person per month, some variability particularly in winter months for heating
• The house is quite clean but we do occasionally hire professional cleaners (~$250 per cleaning ($50/person); typically every two months)
• The house was 3 men, 2 women but we recently had a housemate move to SF for work and are trying to replace her with another woman.
About the housemates:
• We are all really laid back and personable. Guests are always welcome so long as you let the house know. We have a downstairs room that converts into a pullout bed whenever overnight guests stay.
• We occasionally host barbeques with the house where we all invite friends over for a relaxed BBQ vibe and sometimes go out to dinner as a house.
• We are all quite clean and there is no strict chore system, instead we just ask everyone to be courteous of shared spaces and clean up after yourself.
Other things worth mentioning:
• The room is ready for moving-in, it does not come furnished but we are within walking distance to Ikea, which is great.
• Some of us bike to Stanford campus – ~20 – 30 minute bike ride depending on which part of campus you are headed to – but the drive is generally 15 – 30 minutes depending on traffic.
• There is easy access to the bus system as well it’s a few minutes’ walk to University Ave stop.
• Our neighborhood is in a great spot, is safe, and mostly consists of families.
