Affectionately known as Chateau de Greer, this timeless Eichler is smack in the middle of the Peninsula. It's an absolute classic. I guarantee that any friends who walk through the door will gasp in admiration and exclaim "dude, this place is like, totally straight from TV's 'Silicon Valley'".
I'm not going to kid you - at this price, the house has seen a bit of aging. Rest assured, though it may have antiquated furnishings, it oozes character you won't find anywhere else. It also includes modern luxuries such as internet, washer, dryer, and dish washer.
The best part, the roommates:
M is our resident engineer. When he's not at work, he enjoys working on his boat.
L works in legal in San Jose. She loves to bake cookies and hike.
G is a nurse practitioner. You could not ask for a sweeter roommate.
Great things about the house:
Close to campus (15 min bike, 8 min drive)
Close to Baylands park if you like running, biking, birding, or just the outdoors generally
BIG backyard (great for plants, having some friends over, or workout equipment... or all three)
HUGE room- there are like 12 ft ceilings here, and a peaked room, honestly its a little silly that this room is only $975.
Lots of parking on and off street
Right by Greer park (basketball courts, dog park, softball if thats your thing)
CHEAP rent: $975 a month, (rent is month by month, no obligation just find your own replacement)
Large common spaces- Kitchen, Living room, yard, backyard shed for storage
The catch: honestly there isn't much of one. It's a great deal. A few things worth noting:
the house is a little old (we prefer to think it has character) but the landlord is responsive and fixes things very promptly if they happen to break.
the room shares a bathroom with 2 others. It's not a problem for us, but if you need an hour in front of a mirror in the morning, consider putting a mirror in your room.
The details:
Room is available December 1st, $650 deposit, and is Month to Month (if you decide to leave, you are responsible for finding a new roomie to replace you)
Rent: $975 per month to be paid by check to the landlord on the first of each month
Utilities: split equally four ways between all roommates

A friendly roommate who is the reasonable standard of neat, nice, and easy going. We’d love to have someone who is down to be friends/ a little social, but we respect everyone needs their own space as well.
