Description

A friend in Palo Alto is looking for an engaging, knowledgeable chemistry tutor for their son, a sophomore in high school.

They’re looking for someone who understands high school chemistry and can help him build a strong foundation in the subject. The ideal tutor would be comfortable explaining topics such as atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, stoichiometry, and acids and bases, while adapting sessions to his class curriculum and current needs.

Beyond working through individual problems, the goal is to help him understand the underlying concepts, approach unfamiliar questions confidently, and develop effective study habits for quizzes and exams.

A Stanford undergraduate or graduate student with a strong chemistry background and experience tutoring high school students would be a great fit. Patience, clear explanations, and an encouraging teaching style are especially important.

Sessions would be in person in the Palo Alto/Stanford area. If interested, please message me with your background, relevant tutoring experience, availability, and hourly rate. Recommendations are very welcome!
