We share this beautiful 2,950ft^2 single-family home in Emerald Hills, and one of our housemates is moving to San Francisco, so we’re looking for someone to take over the available room.
The Room (135ft^2)
The available room has an approximately 11ft x 11ft main floor area, plus ample storage with a 2ft x 7ft ceiling-height closet featuring built-in shelving and removable sliding doors. The window looks onto our backyard. Features include ceiling-mounted lighting on a dimmer switch, house-wide air conditioning and heating, and a lockable door. This is a very quiet room in a well-built and well-insulated house - the loudest noises tend to come from the squirrels in the tree in the backyard. The bathroom is shared with one other housemate. A queen-sized bed, mattress and dresser are also available if desired.
The House (2,950ft^2, 4bd + 3.5ba)
This house is very special: it has an incredible, expansive view of the Bay looking as far north as southern Oakland and as far south as Fremont, with Mt Diablo center stage. Sunrises and sunsets are equally stunning. The house was remodelled in the 2010s with wood floors in the common spaces and a tile-floored double-height foyer.
We have two balconies and a large living room to take in the view, along with a dining room and den. The kitchen features granite countertops, a high-end Thermador fridge, Miele dishwasher and 6-burner gas range. There’s also a fireplace and 3 wet bars, fountains in both the front and back yards, and a built-in BBQ and firepit.
There is plenty of shared storage in the garage and a full laundry room with an industrial sink. You’ll also have access to shared appliances, including a TV, vacuum cleaner, espresso machine and more.
We are the existing tenants on the lease and are looking for a new housemate to take over the available room. Rent is pooled and paid monthly under our current lease, which runs through March 2027 with the option to extend. We anticipate extending.
The Neighbourhood
Situated between Upper and Lower Emerald Lakes on a very quiet street in a neighbourhood consisting mostly of single-family homes. Edgewood Park & Natural Preserve is a 5-minute walk away. There’s also a small shopping area with multiple restaurants, a gas station, convenience store and coffee shop within about a 20-minute walk, as well as a community center and gym.
It’s approximately a 5-minute drive to I-280, 10 minutes to downtown Redwood City and 20 minutes to Stanford.
The Housemates
We’re a hard working but also laid-back group who love to cook and host the occasional dinner party. Among us are people working in medicine, science, marketing and biotech. Typically 1-2 of us work from home on any given day.
We’re clean, organized, open-minded, polite and social, and enjoy having a friendly and considerate household. Shared interests in cooking, music, the outdoors, academics or similar are always a plus.
The room is available starting Sep 1st.
