The Betty Shabazz Homecoming... The Wake Up Call

Join us for a day of community, reflection, and celebration!

This optional overnight/sleepover event features learning about Mount Holyoke's Black history, games, movies, dancing, and a workshop led by MHC alum Tayllor Oyewole-Davie ’15.

Sleeping bags provided!

• Food & Refreshments: Lunch, dinner, breakfast and snacks will be provided.
• Registration: Please complete the registration form in advance so we can ensure adequate food, materials, and resources for everyone.
• Featured Workshop: When the Going Gets Tough: A Community Restoration Toolkit

  • Session Overview: Explore what restoration looks like when community members are in conflict, and learn how to restore relationships with grace, integrity, and respect for ourselves and others.

About the Betty:

As the first cultural center on campus, the Betty Shabazz, commonly known as the “Betty,” assists and supports students who identify within the African diaspora (including, but not limited to, African, African American and Caribbean) through interactive programming. It’s also a space to come together and celebrate. The Betty is located at 2 Dunlap Place, near Kendall Sports & Dance Complex.
