Hi, Tide Day!

Hi, Tide Day is an annual Student Government Association tradition designed to welcome students back to campus and celebrate the start of a new academic year. Taking place the day after the first day of classes, this event creates an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to connect, build community, and show their Crimson Tide spirit.

Students can stop by one of three locations—Student Center Plaza, Presidential Village, or the Quad—to enjoy a free frozen treat and connect with SGA representatives. Exclusive Hi, Tide Day T-shirts will be available only at the Student Center Plaza location and will be distributed while supplies last.

Each location will feature interactive tabling opportunities where students can ask questions, learn more about campus involvement, and engage with members of the Student Government Association. Students are also encouraged to wear Hi, Tide name tags throughout the day to help spark conversations, create new connections, and foster a welcoming campus environment.

Through Hi, Tide Day, the Student Government Association and the Division of Student Life aim to promote belonging, hospitality, and school spirit while helping students feel connected and supported as the academic year begins.
