The Boise State Writing Center is hosting the National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing (NCPTW), which will bring writing center practitioners from around the nation to Boise State's campus on October 16-18. This year's conference theme asks writing center researchers to explore the notion of "centeredness" and the culture of joy/belonging/weirdness in writing centers from different disciplinary perspectives.
The NCPTW promotes the teaching of writing through collaborative learning with the goal of helping students become self-sufficient writers. The NCPTW offers peer tutors the opportunity to contribute in professional and scholarly ways to the larger writing center community.
