SCAD students are invited to join the Sequential Art department and guest judge, Alumni Mentor Sage Coffey, for a scary-fun day of narrative improvisation, creative camaraderie, and peculiar prizes!
Participants will have 12 hours to create a complete 12-page comic inspired by this year’s spooktacular theme: CRYPTIDS!
The challenge begins promptly at 12 PM. Participants should arrive at least 15 minutes early, with their favorite drawing materials in hand and ready to work. Bring a friend: This event is open to students of all majors!
SO...Gather your supplies, summon your favorite cryptid, and let’s make something memorable as a community!

- Create a 12-page comic with a minimum of 30 panels.
- Stories should be created in a standard print-page format.
- Work may be created digitally, traditionally, or with a combination of both modalities.
- You may use the provided page template or your own.
- Final comics must be submitted as a PDF by 12 AM.
- Only completed comics will be submitted for judging. When the slide whistle blows, pencils down!
