This 3-hour course satisfies the ethics and boundaries continuing education requirement for Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), and Certified Master Social Workers (CMSW).

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify key provisions of Florida Statutes Chapter 491 and Chapter 456 governing psychotherapy practice. 
2. Compare and contrast ethical standards across NASW, AAMFT, and ACA codes of ethics. 
3. Analyze real disciplinary cases to recognize common boundary violations and their consequences. 
4. Apply structured ethical decision-making models to complex clinical scenarios.  
5. Evaluate social media, telehealth, and modern practice risks through an ethical lens. 

About the Presenter:

Claudia Vicencio, PhD, LCSW, LMFT, serves as the Director of Outpatient Behavioral Health at Memorial Healthcare System, where she leads innovative initiatives that expand access to comprehensive mental health and addiction treatment services. 

A dynamic speaker, educator, and advocate, Dr. Vicencio specializes in trauma-informed care, emotional regulation, and systems-level strategies that enhance patient engagement, strengthen clinical practice, and promote workforce well-being. Through her leadership, she works to advance behavioral healthcare delivery and create sustainable solutions that support individuals, families, and communities. 

Appointed to the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling in 2020, Dr. Vicencio has served as Board Chair since 2022. In this role, she is dedicated to advancing professional standards, supporting the behavioral health workforce, and fostering systems of care where individuals and families can thrive.
