Check out the Library — Your Passport to Success!
The UCR Library Open House introduces students to the resources, services, and spaces available at the Tomás Rivera Library & Raymond L. Orbach Science Library. Pick up your event passport and library map at the front of either library, then collect stamps at each station to learn about a library service, resource, or space from UCR Library staff members.
Each library hosts its own 10-station tour that takes about an hour to complete. You can finish the 10-stamp tour at Rivera, Orbach, or tackle both! Seven stations are offered at both locations, but each library has three unique stations to explore. In both linbraries, you'll learn things like how to reserve a group study room, search UC Library Search, get help navigating the stacks, and how to print and scan. You'll also learn about our Research Guides, librarian-curated guides for specific subjects that compile the best databases and resources we have for your coursework. Rivera stations will also cover Special Collections & University Archives and our Leisure Reading Collection, while Orbach stations include the Makerspace and the Scholarly Technology and Research Lab.
Get your passport stamped at each station you visit. Collect ten stamps and receive:
