UNR Extension Douglas County Bee & Pollinator Club Presents: Honey Bee Health Educational Series

Bees are essential to our food systems, gardens, and natural landscapes, yet honeybee and native bee populations face growing challenges. Join UNR Extension Douglas County Bee & Pollinator Club for a free educational series designed to help gardeners, landowners, and bee enthusiasts better understand and support pollinator health.

Across four engaging sessions, local experts will cover:

🐝 September 2 Honeybee Nutrition — What bees need to thrive, from foraging habits to the nutritional value of different plants and forage sources.

🌾 September 30 Land Management for Honeybees — Discover practical strategies for creating and maintaining habitat that supports healthy honeybee colonies, from forage plantings to seasonal land care. This session also introduces Nevada's native bee species, exploring their unique needs and how thoughtful land management can benefit both honeybees and native pollinators alike.

🌍 October 14 Environmental Stressors — The challenges facing honeybee colonies today, including pests, disease, pesticides, and climate impacts, and what beekeepers and land stewards can do to minimize risk.

Whether you're a backyard gardener, a landowner, or simply curious about protecting our pollinators, this series offers practical, science-based knowledge you can apply right away.
