Add to calendarA Mad Hatter’s Steampunk-Inspired Tea Party
Celebrate the opening of UC San Diego Library's 25th annual Paper Theatre Festival exhibition with an afternoon of miniature theatrical wonders, live performances and tea-party-inspired fun.
Guests are invited to explore a colorful exhibition showcasing highlights from 25 years of paper theatre creations by students, staff, alumni and community members. The reception will feature three short previews of live paper theatre performances by Scott Paulson '84 and Rachel Almodovar, featuring the artwork of Elizabeth Hines, and visiting artist Nancy So Miller. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet participating artists Carin Wallace and Ned Norman; visit interactive stations featuring activities hosted by Anastasia Hunter and Christina Continelli; and create a paper hat to wear at this whimsical summer gathering.
Enjoy tea-party-inspired light bites and refreshments in the style of a Mad Hatter’s Steampunk Tea.
The exhibition will remain on display at The Nest in Geisel Library from July 14 through September 27, 2026.
Join us for an imaginative afternoon of art, performance and community as we kick off this year's festival!
