I am a Stanford post-doc relocating at the end of March (March 31) and am looking to replace myself in our 2bed/2bath apartment at Mountain View. We are at the crossing of Escuela ave and California street, 5 mins walking distance from Castro and 1 mile from Mt View Caltrain station.
About the apartment: Please see attached pictures. The common area is furnished. (I would be selling my furniture in the room). You would have your private bedroom and bathroom. The room has a small porch and a pretty large closet. Kitchen is shared and equipped with a dishwasher and a pantry. Rent is total $2600, plus utilities which amount to about another $50-75 per person, depending on heater/ac usage. Heating is central, AC is included but not central. The apartment also has a pool, and laundry is coin operated within the building. We have one covered parking spot, and one uncovered. And plenty of guest parking. There is also an additional storage downstairs for each apartment. This is a semi-pet friendly apartment. You can have up to two cats, but no dogs allowed (sorry!).
About my current roommate: My roommate is a female software developer working at LinkedIn, originally from India. We share the kitchen and the common area. She has been a fantastic roommate, and super supportive with my pet kitty. We have gotten along wonderfully thus far! If you are a cat-owner, you guys would get along really well.
The current lease is till May 31. I will be subletting for the months of April-May. The two of you can decide if you want to extend the lease beyond the decided timeframe.
