26" road bike - $40 - great for postdoc/grad student . . .

I have a blue Bridgestone road bike in very good shape that I would like to sell since I recently defended my Ph.D. and I will not be taking it with me when I move out of the Bay Area at the end of this month. The bike comes with two sets of hand brakes, new tires and a rear rack. Recently, one of the hand brake handles fell off (I have the handle, it just needs a screw) and the gear shifter broke, so it only goes one speed. Other than that, the bike is safe (all the breaks work) and it has served me well going from campus to the Caltrain and back home.

I'm selling the bike for $45 OBO. If you are a grad student or a postdoc who needs to get from point A to point B and doesn't mind buying and installing an extra screw, then this bike is for you.
