The location: We are located right near the intersection of Magdalena and Foothill, for easy car commutes on 280, 85 or Foothill Expressway. Foothill is also a flat 5 mile bike ride to the corner of the Stanford campus, with wide bike lanes and lots of bike commuters! Within walking distance is a shopping strip with a national coffee chain, upscale grocery store, dry cleaners, ice cream shop, and more (Rancho Center). Also walking distance is Loyola Corners, which features a breakfast/lunch diner. Trader Joe's, drug store, bank, non-upscale, grocery store, Chinese delivery within 2 miles, downtown Los Altos 2 miles in the other direction. Roughly 10 minute drive to San Antonio/El Camino/Showers Dr. shopping district. Parking at the house is not a problem and does not require a permit.

The house: Our house is a bright 5-bedroom, 2-bath house with two large living rooms (each with a fireplace), a dining area, a roomy kitchen (three refrigerators), and a covered deck with a pool in the backyard. The open room shares a bathroom with two other roommates, as the other 2 bedrooms are clustered in another area of the house. Common areas are furnished. Washer/Dryer. Decent storage space, inside and out. None of us are big TV-watchers. We each take on a few household responsibilities and rotate who is responsible for garbage/recycling each week.

The rent: This room is medium-sized (~140 square feet), quiet, overlooks the backyard and shares a wall with one other bedroom. Rent is $570.00 a month. Monthly utilities (water, garbage, electricity, phone, internet, bi-weekly housecleaning service, shared items like toilet paper and dish soap) usually run $100 - $150 a month, slightly higher in winter than summer. Pool and yard maintenance are included in rent.

Other details: Deposit of $1,000 and $570.00 for rent required for move-in. We ask for roommates who can stay for 1 year or longer. Move in date is the October 6th. Please be ready to show proof of employment or savings and enthusiasm for being a respectful member of a group living situation! Non-smokers only. This is drug-free and pet-free household.
