$823
Hi,
We've got a nice, 115 square foot, unfurnished room with wood floors available for the right person at $823 a month in our beautiful, 5bd/3ba house. Move-in is January 1st (potentially sooner). Our chill housemate R.F. is moving closer to work and we're looking for a new housemate for the long term.
To apply, please fill out our (brief) Google form below
The Room
The room is 11.5 feet x 9 feet, plus an interior closet measuring 7x2 feet. It has very nice wooden floors that were refinished in February 2017. You'd be sharing a bathroom with one other (female) housemate and additional closet space is available in the hallway. The room will be unfurnished for move-in. It's a good room at a very good price and we expect it to go quickly.
The House
We moved into this 5bd/3ba house in May, and it's a beauty. Freshly remodeled in early 2017, it has a newly updated kitchen with gas stove, newly renovated bathrooms, new wood floors and carpet, and a luscious front and back yard. Washer/dryer in the garage along with a second refrigerator. A nice backyard with a BBQ. Plentiful street parking.

The Neighborhood
We're officially in West San Jose, but in the sliver that juts north between Cupertino and Saratoga. We're near CA-85 at De Anza, and from there easily accessible to US-280. 5 minutes to Cupertino, Saratoga, San Jose, and Campbell. 10 minutes to Mountain View, Sunnyvale, and downtown San Jose. 20 minutes to Palo Alto. We're not far from the coastal mountains (not even 5 minutes drive), which makes for a refreshing view sometimes.
The Housemates
We're a friendly and social co-ed group of young(ish?) professionals. Three of us moved here from a previous house so we've done the shared living thing together for a bit now. We talk to each other, we go out to eat together, we go hiking together, we do cleaning/holiday 'parties' together. People tell us we're a social house for Silicon Valley.
B.D. is our Mr. Fix-it. He's a triple black belt software engineer who can change ceiling lights without needing a chair. He works in Mountain View and is originally from the Sierras
A.L. is our resident type A entrepreneur. She runs her own social entrepreneurship through Stanford and is often traveling for conferences. She cooks, is into art and dance, and is originally from L.A.
J.Y. is our house counselor. A lawyer-not-praticing-law, he works in online publishing and technology. He likes to hike, read, watch spy-thrillers, and follow hockey. He's a local.
N.N. is Canadian nice. She's a recent graduate of McGill University in Canada. She works at Apple, likes to read, and makes amazing homemade cookies. She's originally from the Bay Area.
The Household
We have a good relationship with our landlord, but they don't live here. Quiet after hours and keeping things clean and functioning are expected. We don't have restrictive rules on using kitchens, other bathrooms, or having overnight guests or significant others over. Everyone does a good job minding themselves and the house - and we hold each other accountable when necessary too.
Utilities (electric, gas, water, garbage, Comcast) are split evenly and should come to around $70 per person per month.
We're looking for the right, fifth person to join us for the long-term. And we're happy to respond to emails proving we're real people. =)
