Hi folks! We are seeking one roommate to join our warm, easy-going, supportive, and laughter- and light-filled five-person home.
Our house culture is laid-back, warm, and communal, grounded in a mutual sense of respect and responsibility for each other, each other's space, and the house. We value direct communication and community spirit, as well as kindness, consideration and looking out for each other. A generosity of spirit as well as flexibility, easy-goingness, and openness permeates much of how we live together. We value a balance of independence and sociality, as well as sharing different perspectives as we come from different fields and interests. Thus far we've shared semi-regular house dinners and very much enjoy each other's company but also value independence and are largely doing our own thing.
We are three female graduate students and one young professional in our mid to late twenties with interests including tea (we have an impressive shared collection), hiking, vegetarian cooking, piano, guitar, travel, running, partner dancing, wine, and joking around.
We're looking for students or professionals who can fit in with the above and are looking forward to making a contribution to our homey atmosphere. We prefer our new housemates to be non-smokers, neat, clean, respectful, considerate, open-minded, and queer-friendly.
The available room is moderately sized, with windows out to the orange trees in our yard. The house is a beautiful Eichler style home, with tons of natural light from skylights and copious windows, generous living room (with the world's most comfortable couches and a working fireplace), great kitchen (with a gas range), 3 bathrooms, and a big backyard (complete with a hammock for lounging!). The location is conveniently located on Park Blvd (near Charleston Rd) in a lovely neighborhood, an easy bike ride away from Stanford campus, across the street from a park, and close to grocery stores and restaurants.
The room is available for move-in anytime between 8/22 through early september and will require joining a year-long joint lease. Rent is $875/month. A security deposit of $1000 is required, alongside good credit, and landlord references.
If this all sounds good, please don't hesitate to drop us an email with some information about yourself, what you're looking for in a living situation, and why you might want to join our house! We look forward to hearing from you.
