The air conditioner operates with a window kit that has to go in an open window. It's not that hard to set up, but the duct on mine has to be duct taped occasionally to keep the air flowing properly. It is a little challenging to get the thing totally insulated, but this is a problem with any unit that has an air output to the outdoors.

It keeps my studio apartment at Stanford extremely cool. I am getting rid of it because I need money for school. New, these go for around $317. I am selling mine for $180 or best offer. This thing is very high quality, as good as any serious window unit I've seen, and it keeps my European, cold-weather-desiring self happy.
