Note: This is for a room in San Francisco, not the Stanford University area.
Hello all! My landlady, from whom I have been renting for the past year, is looking for a new tenant. I have had a wonderful experience renting a room from this family, and I would like to pass this opportunity along to a fellow Stanford alum.
__
Available: June 2014
Location: Near SFSU. House is located on Beverly St. crossed by Garfield.
Rent: $900 a month (utilities included)
Deposit: Short term, $450. 6 months or more, $900. (Refundable, minus damage/cleaning fees)
Internet: Comcast Broadband. Wireless, but the router is just outside the room.
Bathroom: Shared with one tenant. You could probably use the family restroom though, for emergencies.
Rules: No pets, no overnight guests, no smoking, drinking is okay but not to excess. Pretty standard.
An odd preference: My landlady would really prefer to host an Asian Stanford student/alum. It's her home and she would just feel more comfortable that way, so I'm just giving you a heads up.

Personal notes:
For someone looking for a quiet, affordable place to live in with nice people and a kitchen to use, I can't recommend this place more. My landlady has been very accommodating, and the home feels clean, friendly, and comfortable. There is also a living room you can use, though I hardly ever use it.
Public transportation is very convenient. A five minute walk takes you to the Muni that can take you to any of the major shopping districts with ease, and one bus stop is literally just around the corner. Either of the two can take you to the Stonestown Mall, which has a Trader Joe's where you can buy groceries and department stores if you'd like. It takes about 30-50 minutes to get to any other major shopping district.
If you'd like to know more about the room, please send me a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
