ABOUT OUR HOME
my friend and i have found a lovely 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home in la honda, california, and we are looking for a third person—or a couple—to enjoy the spacious master bedroom (see photo), starting september 15th! the house is nestled in the redwoods near a creek, just 10 minutes from the ocean, and our front door is the gateway to numerous hiking trails and world-class cycling. we are also just a one-hour hike to a sierra camp hut! this place is a nature-lover's haven.
the master bedroom is, by far, the nicest space in the house, and it can easily accommodate a couple. its high wooden ceilings and bright natural light give it a cathedral-like feel, and the doors opening to the deck connect you with the forest. the room has a large, private bathroom with a walk-in shower and spacious walk-in closet with plenty of room for two people's wardrobes. we are asking $1,800 per month in rent, which, unfortunately, is what we must ask in order to afford this beautiful place! (this is a typical price, given the size of the room and the location of the house.) if you really want to join us but cannot afford that rent, let us know, and we might be able to accommodate you in one of the smaller bedrooms for $1,050.
we are located near the corner of highway 84 and pescadero road, 10 minutes to the ocean, 10 minutes to alice's restaurant and nearby shops, 25 minutes to highway 280, and 30 minutes to stanford university.
ABOUT US
we are two women who value communal, mindful, and eco-friendly living. zee recently earned her ph.d. in education and started a company dedicated to helping groups and individuals sustain lasting change in wellness, education, and climate adaptation. she loves yoga, dance, and gardening. jamie is currently a ph.d. student in education, studying communication and working hard to help teachers develop common language. when she's not working on her dissertation, you can find her in the redwoods, on the meditation cushion, or sharing tea with friends.
we want to be more than a group of individuals living under the same roof. we want to create a home that inspires us, brings us alive, and helps us live more integrated and authentic lives. more than anything, we want to find ways of shared living that are ethical, eco-conscious, and aligned with our values—like service, sincerity, and sustainability.
we are open to sharing our home with people of all genders, genealogies, orientations, ages, sizes, abilities, languages, faiths and traditions... so come as you are!
if you are interested, please message me and tell me a bit about yourself! where are you from? what do you love? how do you spend your time? we are excited to get to know you!
