Free bedroom in a house in West Menlo Park

I am posting this for a good friend, a two-time Stanford graduate, who is a very friendly, open and hospitable person and who will have a free bedroom in his house to offer to a nice Stanford affiliate soon:

A furnished room is available for move-in at the end of July. The house is located in West Menlo Park, near the intersection of Alameda de las Pulgas and Santa Cruz Ave, short walking distance to The Dutch Goose, 12 minute walking distance to the Sharon Park Drive shopping center (Safeway, CVS, restaurants, banks). The bus stop for the free Stanford Marguerite shuttle (line “SLAC”) is directly behind that shopping center. The location is therefore ideal for someone who works at SLAC or at Stanford.

The free room is on the first floor in a corner of the house, facing away from the street and facing the garden with a small patio. It is roughly 130 sqft., has a queen-size bed, a walk-in closet, a desk and large window-doors opening toward the garden. Directly adjacent to the room is a newly renovated bathroom, which will be exclusive to the occupant of the room. Room and bathroom are adjacent to the living and dining rooms of the house, which in turn are next to the kitchen. The occupant gets full access to the kitchen and common areas of the house (huge beautiful living room, dining room, kitchen).

Further amenities: on-site laundry (washer and dryer), dishwasher, stove/oven, microwave, fully equipped kitchen, WiFi.

The room has just been occupied for a year by a visiting PhD student at Stanford. She loved it, but had to go back to her home country.

Price: $1500 per month, including all utilities (electricity, water, garbage, gas, heating, WiFi and cleaning lady twice a month, who would also clean your room and your bathroom). Lease is month-to-month, but somebody who plans to stay longer-term – 6 or 12 months or even longer than that – would be preferred.
