FREE STANFORD CAMPUS STUDIO AS WORK EXCHANGE

Small studio cottage in lovely residential campus neighborhood available rent-free in exchange for 10 work hours/wk. Suitable for 1 person only (one 10'x11' room, plus closet and bathroom), studio is separate from main house, pleasant, quiet and private, with own entrance, back yard, picnic table, fire-pit, and vegetable garden. No kitchen but has refrigerator, toaster oven, hot plate and microwave, and tenant can use our washer/dryer, swimming pool, hot tub, large yard, gardens, and bike shed. Photos available.
We are a retired faculty couple with a cat. In place of rent ($1200/mo.), tenant spends 10 hours/wk. helping with various tasks including minor carpentry, mechanical problem-solving (whatever breaks!), computer issues, gardening, etc. (Working fewer hours and paying partial rent is negotiable.) Work times can be 2 or 3 days/wk. but must include at least 2 hrs. daytime (9am-5pm) on weekdays or weekends. One year lease minimum, longer term preferred. Must be nonsmoker, have driver's license, excellent English, computer skills, flexible schedule and references.
