As someone that hates building things and taking things apart -- I can tell you this bed is a breeze! I left it partially assembled. It would take you about 20 minutes to reassemble and there are excellent videos online teaching you how. As long as the long pieces going along side the bed fit length wise in your car, you should have no problem transporting the bed frame in a small care.
