This Gary Fisher Marlin is a large aluminum hardtail mountain bike with a Manitou suspension fork, 26 inch wheels and a 24-speed drivetrain. It has a Shimano Deore rear derailleur, a Bontrager triple crankset and IRC Mythos XC knobby tires. It has brand new shifters front and rear, new shift cables and brand new grips. The metallic blue paint carries the flame decals Gary Fisher was known for. It is a good fit for trail riding, gravel roads, fire roads, bike paths, commuting and all-around riding.
Gary Fisher is credited with inventing the mountain bike in the late 1970s, building some of the first purpose-built off-road bikes in Marin County. The Marlin was his hardtail line for trail riders. Gary Fisher bikes later became part of Trek, and the Marlin name continues in Trek's mountain bike line today.
