Hello!
We are a group of early-to-mid-career Stanford affiliates, looking for a new roommate to fill a vacancy beginning August 17th. We're from a mix of career fields and are looking to live with other working professionals, broadly defined. Feel free to share this with your non-Stanford friends as well!
About the House:
- 4 bed/3 bath in East Palo Alto
- This room shares a bathroom with one other housemate
--- Since you’d be sharing a bathroom with A., female applicants preferred
- Roughly a 30-minute bike ride to campus, with multiple routes to choose from
- Lots of kitchen space
- Two huge living rooms
- In-house washer and dryer
- Our block connects directly to the Bay Trail
- $1,250/mo, plus $50 for professional cleaning twice a month (incl. shared bathroom)
- Utilities average $100-175 per person per month, depending on heating
- Free street parking
- Driveway parking available for $50/month
About our Group:
- Chill with guests, not looking for wild parties. We have our friends over occasionally and might host a dinner or brunch from time to time, but we let each other know in advance if there's a group coming. Asking the same in return.
- Social introverts: we enjoy getting out of the house, but love coming back to a peaceful home or just staying in sometimes
About A:
- 34M
- Five years on staff at Stanford
- Active lifestyle: triathlon, climbing, travel
- Grillmeister: you'll get to sample my friend-famous BBQ
- Degrees from peer-level institutions, for what it's worth
About (other) A:
- 25F
- Will be moving out in mid-December at the conclusion of her research appointment
- This room has historically been occupied by tenants on a short-term stay of 3-12 months, such as VSRs and postdocs, but doesn’t have to be
- If you're signing a longer-term lease, you are welcome to help select who will move in here next!
About S:
- 25M
- Swing dancing, musical theater, traveling
- Class of ‘24 Stanford alum
- Splits time at his partner’s place in SF
About You:
- Stanford staff/fellows/postdocs/alum/faculty/visiting researchers preferred but not required
- Not a current Stanford student!
- Enjoyable to be around: not expecting that we'll necessarily be best friends, but let's at least say hi to each other, joke around, and maybe hang out from time to time
- Communicative: better to speak up early on than let pet peeves escalate
- Clean and respectful of shared spaces: 80% of this is really just the basics: wiping down countertops, closing cabinet doors, starting the dishwasher when it’s full, picking up personal items…
- Not offended by the smell of delicious meat cooking
If you think we might be a good housing fit, send me a bit about yourself and let's connect!
