Large bedroom & private bath for rent August 1st

Hi folks! We have a large room, with private bathroom for rent ($1265 for August with up to an 8% increase starting in September due to lease renewal). Our house has tons of common space, including a huge backyard (with orange trees!), grill, hammock, piano, comfy couches, a well equipped kitchen, and lots of natural light.

Our house culture is laid-back and communal, and grounded in a mutual sense of respect and responsibility for each other, each other's space, and the house. We value direct communication and sense of community, as well as kindness and consideration in looking out for each other. A generosity of spirit as well as flexibility and openness permeates much of how we live together. We value a balance of independence and sociality, as well as sharing different perspectives as we come from different fields and interests. Thus far we've shared semi-regular house dinners and very much enjoy each other's company but also value independence and are largely doing our own thing.

We are currently five female young professionals in our mid-twenties to early thirties with interests including tea (we have an impressive shared collection), hiking, cooking, piano, guitar, travel, running, partner dancing, wine, and joking around.

The house is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood adjacent to a park, an easy bike ride away from Stanford's campus (15 min) and to Castro street in downtown Mountain View (15 min), and close to grocery stores and restaurants. We have bike parking, as well as a lot of street parking.

We're looking for a student or professional who is looking to join the year lease starting in September, and would enjoy the ample space in our house! An ideal housemate is a non-smoker, female, clean, respectful, open-minded, queer-friendly, and dog-friendly (we have 2, but unfortunately cannot accommodate any more pets).

Rent is $1265/month for August, exclusive of utilities and internet. A security deposit is required. A new lease for all the housemates will be signed at the beginning of September, and there will be a rent increase at most to 8% (~$80).
