$1,000
Hello Peninsula house hunters!
We have a room available in a spacious Palo Alto house. The room is spacious, carpeted, and gets plenty of sunlight. Rent is $1000 (pro-rated if you move-in in the middle of the month). Move-in is flexible from now to mid-August but we are looking for people interested to stay long-term.
We are currently a close group of 9 community-oriented housemates in our mid 20s to mid 30s who work in energy, health, academia, gaming, and technology. We pride ourselves on our welcoming house dinners (about once every other week for the house), house talks (give a presentation a la Ted-talk on anything you love, we'll listen), and sharing adventures both here and abroad.
Here's a little more about ourselves:
S is global and dynamic. She used to walk and study education in China. Now she drives and studies US health care policy. You'll overlap with her until mid-August.
MB works in clean energy and enjoys trips to the computer history museum. His hobbies include exploring new cuisines, finding new cultural events in Palo Alto, sending real-talk emails, and winning wiffle ball championships. He's currently looking for a new squash partner.
J goes with MB. She is a new permanent addition after many prior visits. She is excited to be closer to Mitchell park for weekly silicon valley pickleball weekend games. She needs rice to survive and is using her business training to build her own.
M spends her days studying poverty and inequality and her weekends cycling, bouldering, and hiking. Her bacon-wrapped chicken toppled the competition at this year's house progressive. She's currently abroad but will resume her house duties in September.
E thinks people should read more, but she's not pretentious. She is an expert in North Korea foreign policy and fights global threats in your news feed. Resident house TedTalk creator/enthusiast.
N goes with E and is always happy to see you. He dabbles full time in photoshop, designing his own video game. If you set it, he'll spike it in his weekly volleyball games.
R is captivating and creative. You can find him practicing violin in the afternoons or using his extensive pop culture knowledge to win at Jeopardy. He brings a certain Southern California flair to the kitchen and enjoys making homemade pasta with N.
D once brought back russian babka and has forever held a special place in all of our hearts. She's a qualitative researcher, aspires to join the circus, and occasionally does yoga twice per day. Plus, she has a costco card.
P is resident expert on all things Greek. On weekdays, he builds communication platforms for businesses. On weekends, you can find him swimming in the local pool and/or planning his next Moussaka, which if done right, takes two days of labor.
Our house has a two car garage currently filled with bikes, skis and other adventure implements, a spacious backyard with a fire pit, wood deck and grill, the most amazing hosting kitchen / living room / dining room / great room combo on the Peninsula and walking distance to a grocery store, Rick's Ice Cream, and the one and only Great Clips (ok, there's more than one...)
What we'd like to hear from you!
