Looking for commuter bike for 5'9 female

I am looking for a cheap but reliable bike to get me from the caltrain station to (and around) the stanford campus. Doesn't have to be super new or flashy, but definitely a bonus if it is light. Looking to pay ~ $150 but there is room for adjustments. Can pick it up in the San Jose area or on/near campus. I am 5'9 so would need an appropriately sized bike. Thanks!
