I'm considering leasing a 2bdr/1.5bath apartment in daly city, but will need a roommate to help cover the rent which totals $2750. I have a cat and will want the master bedroom, so I need someone who is not allergic to cats and able to pay $1350 for their room and half-bath, pictured above. The lease is from Sept 1st - March 1st with the option to renew after that.
About me:
I'm a 3rd year PhD student studying Cancer Biology, I play on the Women's Club Basketball Team, and I like to go out dancing on the weekends. I like having friends over before going out but I don't want to be the party house. I usually go to lab between 10-11am and stay till 7-10pm on weekdays, give or take an hour, and I often go into lab for 3-10hrs on the weekends.
I like to keep the common areas tidy, by which I mean:
There are always at least some clean dishes to use and no moldy dishes lying around
Seating is available and a pathway free of clutter can be traveled between rooms
Toilets and sinks are free of hair, urine, feces, and/or blood
Measures to prevent pest infestation (roaches, mice, ants, etc) are taken as needed
Otherwise, I'm pretty flexible when it comes to living conditions.
About my cat:
He's a 4y/o mixed breed who's fixed, vaccinated, flea treated, and I keep his nails trimmed to avoid furniture damage. He's the runt of the litter and has always been submissive, timid, and generally hides from people he's never met. I keep him indoors because I know he'd lose if he ever fought another animal. Once he warms up to you he'll want you to move his feather toy or throw his stuffed animals to play with him, and will cuddle in your lab when he notices you working hard on the computer. I don't want him to be stressed out living with an aggressive dog or cat, but would be fine sharing the place with a small cat-friendly animal.
About you:
Must be able to pay rent every month on time
Must be LGBTQIA friendly
Must be ok living with an indoor cat
Preferably between 21-35y/o
Preferably not a cisgender heterosexual male
