Palo Alto Home Share

Hello Stanford scholars.

For several years, I have been sharing my 1905 Victorian home in Palo Alto's Crescent Park neighborhood just 5 blocks from the downtown center. Palo Alto is very bike friendly. From our house, the Stanford quad is 15 minutes by bike. Whole Foods, Trader Joes, local parks and shopping are close by as well. There is also a free hourly weekday shuttle from our corner to the Caltrain station that connects with the campus free shuttle or for trips to San Francisco, San Jose, the airports etc.
The house has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. One of our housemates is returning to Denmark in December. Her small bedroom will be available beginning January. You would share a bath with one other person and have full use of the house as if it were your home. I am retired, volunteer with a program for teens, look after the house, tend our garden, travel and get lots of exercise. A second housemate, Tim, left Lego after some years where he was digital and online marketing manager and is now developing new business opportunities in the bay area. Anders is a Stanford postdoc and will be here until June.

The monthly rent is $1,600 for the small bedroom. The rent includes all utilities, wifi, the use of a bike and laundry. A four month minimum stay is required. We are hoping to find enthusiastic and engaged housemate who would enjoy cooking and sharing an occasional meal together. A number of Stanford scholars have lived here during their stay.
