tl;dr Legally an e-bike, in practice a super convenient city e-moped or e-scooter.
Looking for a new good home.
Test ride Sep 1, 3-5pm.
Fast and fun fat tire ebike with 50 mile range.
I am a renewable energy PhD student and built this myself (not my first build).
If you were to buy a bike similar to this you would have to pay over $4000 to get close to this range and power.
I rode it for under 100 miles, but am selling it because I would already have plans to build yet another ebike.
ebike Specs:
- Goes 50 miles on normal use, 30 miles if you gun it and stop and accelerate hard every hundred feet (like on Stanford campus).
- It accelerates fast and goes 28mph (the legal limit), measured peak was 34mph.
- It has pedals (needed to be legal), but you don't have to use them - it is more than powerful enough. Power is controlled with a motorcycle-style right hand throttle.
Bike Specs:
- Sonders fatbike frame built from sturde steel used as donor bike (I replaced all the Sonders ebike garbage parts with legit ebike parts).
- almost new fat tires
- new heavy duty tubes
- new Tektro disk brakes, front and back
- Special fatbike splash guard to keep you dry in the rain.
Tech Details:
- Fast charger: tops it up with 200W in 5 hours (very safe and reliable - Meanwell)
- Battery: Sharp 1kWh (990.8 Wh) with Stoba technology (ultra safe and reliable) (for you nerds: 14s, 20.6Ah.
- Motor: Has a 1000W direct drive permanent magnet hub motor. It can be switched to 750W (the legal limit)
Comes with premium fast charger, GPS trip computer and U-lock (if you don't try haggling).
PS I can send more pictures
PPS I also have some crazy powerful 30mph+ esk8s (electric skateboards) - ask if intererested.
