Private Bed & Bath in a Penthouse

Hi! The second bedroom and bathroom in my condo will be available starting August 1st. Ideally, I would love to have someone commit to 3-6 months, but am open to anything less than a year.

About the room:

• Private 12'x11’ room
• Includes a 5'10” X 2'6” closet
• Comes with a detached private bathroom
• The room is furnished with a queen sized bed, bedside table, standing desk, and dresser
• There is bedding and towels available

About the unit:
It is located in a secure building in a prime location in Oakland with easy access to 580, a mile away from Macarthur BART, walking distance to Grand Lake and Piedmont Ave, and down the street from the Morcom Rose Garden.

The unit is a 4th floor penthouse and includes two decks facing northwest and southeast. It does not share any walls with neighbors and is essentially a home on top of a building.

Within the unit, the kitchen was remodeled in 2023 and the 2nd bathroom’s shower was upgraded in 2025. Storage in the fridge/freezer/dry storage will be available and you’re welcome to use appliances as well as the grill.

The building is secure, uses shared washers and dryers for laundry and includes an outdoor pool and small gym.

About me (your future housemate):
I am a working professional in her mid-thirties. I WFH on Fridays and am in-office the other 4 days. On in-office days, I typically get up at 6AM, spend an hour on personal projects before commuting into work, and come back home after a workout around 7PM. In the evenings, I make/eat dinner, read, watch an occasional show, and generally do chill things to wind down. I usually go to bed around 10-10:30PM and sleep with a white noise machine.

For weekends, I usually alternate between a weekend getting out and enjoying what the Bay Area has to offer and a weekend of errands and chores (in a fun way?). Other than that, I enjoy moving my body (swimming, running, the occasional bike ride, climbing, yoga), hanging with friends (sometimes here for a meal), making art, and cooking.

Ideally, I'd love an amicable relationship with my housemate where it wouldn't be awkward to catch up on the day, but I'm also big on respect and privacy and will honor your boundaries.

What’s most important to me is keeping the space clean and maintaining it. Examples of what that looks like is not wearing shoes inside, cleaning-as-you-cook, avoiding accumulation of clutter in common spaces (I don't want to pick up after you and vice versa) and sharing some chores on rotation.
