Private bedroom and semi-private living area in beautiful RWC house

We are looking to a fill a room in our large and lovely house in the Farm Hill neighborhood of Redwood City – short or long-term stays are possible, furnished or unfurnished. Rent starts at 1700 + utilities, and we can negotiate higher rates depending on your need for flexibility/duration and/or furnishings.

The house has 4 bedrooms, a great kitchen, a big deck, a pool, and a garage. Upstairs there are two full-time Stanford-affiliated roommates (one male, one female, and we both travel a lot), and a commuter room that is used 3 nights a week by a friend. You would have most of the downstairs living area and the only downstairs bedroom with a half-bath to yourself (and use one of the upstairs showers). The room and the downstairs living area is furnished and mostly "yours," except that we pass through to get to the laundry room and the garage, and a bit of storage. We generally have a friendly but independent household – we’re outdoorsy, have music/instruments around, share meals/drinks if we’re around at the same time, and occasionally hang out together, but it’s not on the co-op end of the spectrum.

The place is just a couple minutes off the 280 (but over a hill so you don’t hear the noise), and about 15 – 25 minute drive to Stanford, depending what part of campus you are going to and what time you are commuting. Or a 25 – 40 minutes bike ride (longer on the way back, due to the house being on a steep hill). You can get to Half Moon Bay in under 30 minutes, same for the freeway fringes of SF. 1.5 miles to Edgewood open space, ~3 miles to downtown redwood city via car, bus, or bike, and similar access to all the Skyline open spaces that you get at Stanford.
