Private, stylish, clean detached studio

Our charming SOFA District Victorian (on 2nd St.) is 5 - 10 minutes walking distance to San Jose McEnery convention center, center for performing arts, SJSU, restaurants, Tech Museum, rock climbing, Ritz & bars. SAP (Sharks & concerts) is a 15 minute walk. (We are in the real downtown perimeter.)

This reservation is for our fully-loaded, newly remodeled detached unit bedroom studio in the back of the home. To add guests beyond 2, requires approval.

The space
This newly remodeled studio unit, detached from the main home, has a private entrance with a lock box (code provided with confirmation.) The studio has a queen bed for up to 2. Your custom studio has a Swedish staircase to a storage loft for management use only. (if you are staying long-term and need the extra storage space, we can discuss.)
When you arrive at the home, you will see the lovely iron-gated Victorian B&B and head to the walkway on the right, to the private rear area to find your lodging - a charming studio with a pillared entrance.

Your kitchen boasts new cabinets (pans, storage containers, plates, silverware, etc.), a private refridgerator with freezer, electric stove, oven, mini-dishwasher, luxury sink and large screen tv.
Your private (cozy and elegant) bathroom with a marble walled and curved glass door shower awaits you. There are some toiletries in case you forgot something.
Locally, we have UBER, Amazon, Safeway and Grubhub food and grocery deliveries. I can also arrange for a personal concierge during your stay if that is preferable.
There is space to put your belongings and there is a towel set in the room and water bottle. Let me know if you need extra blankets.

We like our property because it is walking distance to many places - including the convention center, center for performing arts, tech museum, SJSU, Shark Tank (SAP) etc. Downtown has much to offer as there are many restaurants, bars, coffee shops, a comedy club, and workout locations (yoga, climbing gym, boxing, jujitsu and more). Ten minute Uber ride from SJC Airport. If you want to venture out on a day trip, like Santa Cruz, Napa, Carmel, Capitola, San Francisco, Monterey etc., we have super easy access to the freeway. The 280 entrance is a couple blocks up. We pride ourselves on repeat customers.

To add a third guest, besides the guest fee, there is a one time $50/bed charge to bring in an extra bed and mattress from storage, which requires moving out the desk and chair, and remove after your stay. This has to be approved and ordered in advance as it is based on availability. Thanks!

Guest access
Only you will have access to your apartment. No unregistered guests are allowed in your apartment - no exceptions.

Do not enter the main house and no un-registered guests are allowed on the entire premises. (You will be asked to leave if you break either rule.) The outside area/parking has a camera for safety as well.

Other things to note
Parking is in the back of the house rather than the front. (this works well if you have a car because your unit is right next to the driveway so easy access.)
It is an old-fashioned layout so from the front yard (by the sidewalk) you enter through an iron gate. The gate has a typical lever you lift on the left side inside the door to open it. That doesn’t have a lock on it.

If you are parking your car at our place (please schedule in advance), enter the chapel parking lot from Reed St. (across from Notre Dame High School) and proceed straight to the connecting alley. Our driveway is the first on the right. You can also park in front of your unit and you will see a whit two door garage with black trim right before our driveway.

Note: There is parking under the freeway overpass in the front of the house on 2nd St. across the street. It is free during the weekend and weeknights and $5/day m-f which is really inexpensive for downtown San Jose.

Parking is free in front of our house but DO NOT park there Tuesday night because of street sweepers or you will get a ticket. There are signs accordingly.

Quiet time is 10:00pm during the week. You have no curfew as you have a detached unit, but common consideration is required.

There is downtown city noise - 280 overpass, jets entering San Jose Airport, Sirens occasionally, etc. We have ear plugs if you like, or you can book elsewhere if you can’t handle noise.

We have a motion light with a monitor camera facing the front home entry door of the main home and back of the house, which shows your front door entryway. There is also a camera on your car (parking lot). These are not monitored and just go to a drive in case ever requested. These delete automatically, but we had guests request this little bit of security in the past, so we got them installed to accommodate.

Laundry is $5/load. Ask for laundry room door code.
