Update: two spots left!
I'm a 30-year-old male software professional looking for two roommates starting September 4. I just signed a lease for the nicest place I could find in this crazy market while still being somewhat affordable by Bay Area standards, within walking distance of Castro Street in Mountain View.
The house has four bedrooms (three upstairs, one downstairs) and three bathrooms (two upstairs, one downstairs). The master bedroom is especially large and has an extremely well-provisioned bathroom with a jacuzzi and giant shower, as well as a walk-in closet. The two upstairs bedrooms are roughly the same size and share a bathroom. There's a relatively new washer and dryer in the unit on the second floor, as well as a patio, lots of light, and common space. The kitchen has new appliances. There may be some storage space available as well. There are two garage parking spaces dedicated to the unit, as well as street parking.
The rooms that are left are $1,250 per month and share the upstairs bathroom. They're roughly 10.5' x 11' and have carpet, with a closet in each room. There is also a lot of bright common area upstairs, as well as a large closet for the washer and dryer.
In general, I try to avoid unnecessary drama and get along with housemates. No smoking, no drugs, no crazy loud parties, though having friends over is of course fine. I personally don't even drink but don't care at all if others do socially. No pets are allowed.
More pictures are available here: http://tours.tourfactory.com/tours/tour.asp?t=365084 (It's a complex of several identical units that were supposed to be condos but are apparently now rented out instead due to market conditions when they were built.)
The management company requires each applicant to pay $35 for a credit check and sign a lease (one year, 9/4/2013 - 9/3/2014). First month's rent, last month's rent and a security deposit equivalent to one month are due up-front (so rent times three). Let me know if you're interested!
