The room is in a home that will be shared by you, three friendly people and one small dog. The owners of the dog are a couple. One is a lawyer, the other a Stanford grad student. The third member of the household is another Stanford grad student. All three are hardworking and often in and out of the house. In four months of living here there hasn't been a big party at the house but there has been a family and friends dinner on almost all the Thursdays that usually includes lots of beer and wine, and sometimes whiskey.
The house has a sunny back yard with a deck, a nice standalone porch swing, and some trees that look like they'll offer nice shade once they leaf out. There is room in the driveway to park a car as well as ample street parking. One car and a fleet of bikes, camping equipment, and other outdoor gear usually occupy the garage. The living room is spacious and runs into the dining area of the kitchen, which in turn leads to a spacious cooking area. There are new appliances, heating, renovated windows and a new paint job throughout the house. The room includes space in a shared hallway closet as well, and you'll be sharing the hallway bathroom with one other person. The bathroom has a nice big sink, a bath/shower, and room for a set of shelves.
The landlord and lady (husband and wife) are amazing. He is very handy, has any tool you could ever ask for and has been willing to loan them out for an afternoon. She brings us food in jars about every other week. They live right next-door and are so easy to talk to.
The neighborhood is just north of Woodside (CA-84), and about equidistant from I-280 and US-101. It is a pleasant five-mile bike ride from Stanford's campus and two miles from the Redwood City Caltrain Station / downtown Redwood City. There is a Safeway in walking distance, about three blocks.
We are looking for either a student or working professional (non-smoker) who is dog friendly, we have room for one more dog as long as it gets along with the friendly dog already living here.
You will need to meet the roommates that you'll be living with and if all goes well, fill out a credit check application with the landlord.
