We have an opening in our apartment in the Downtown Menlo Park area. Available is a two room space, including a small private bedroom ~10x12 and an additional study area ~8x10 for a desk, couch, or work area. The 1.5 Bathrooms and kitchen and dining room in the apartment are shared, and the room has ample closet space.
Your potential roommates would be a 5th Year Phd Student (male) and a Post-Doc (female) (both in our 30s). We work long hours and view the apartment as a place to retreat and recharge -- and sometimes get writing done. We are looking for someone in search of the same, who is flexible, responsible and values a clean common living space. (We're also a lot of fun, but mostly on weekends... we love to Mountain Bike, make interesting fresh squeezed juices, or grab a few drinks down at the Refuge, which is three minutes walk away.)
Which brings me to the place's best feature: Location. The apartment is close to campus (It's only 10-12 minutes bike ride away from the Stanford Hospital and Engineering Quad!!!). Meanwhile, we're in a phenomenal and safe neighborhood with 2 grocery stores (TJs, Draegers), Pete's Coffee, Starbucks, a weekend farmer's market, nice restaurants, bagel shops, and the like all within five minutes walk.
If this sounds appealing to you. Please contact us by email with any questions. Also please attach a picture of something that makes you happy. It would also be great if you could let us know what sort of group living experiences you've had in the past, as our preference is definitely for someone with a track record of being a considerate and not being too bothered by normal household noise. (i.e. if you are an extremely light sleeper, this is not the place for you).
Some details: We are looking for someone to move in Jan 1 (some flexibility if you want to move in sooner). The rent 966 plus a share of the utilities. If selected and approved by the landlord, you would be added to the lease. Ideally, we would like someone willing to commit for at least 6 months, though we might consider something shorter term if your timing coincides with an academic quarter. Landlord may require proof of employment and/or a credit check.
