We've got a room opening up in a shared 5-bedroom house, very close to Stanford and Hwy 280, and we're looking for a new housemate!
You will be sharing the house with four easy-going housemates, aged 32-60, working in fields from woodworking to biomedical research. We are one woman and three men, so to maintain gender balance, we're looking for a woman for the room (no couples and no pets, sorry). Everyone is pretty friendly; we like chance encounters to talk about knitting, or standup, or whatever we're into, and get-togethers/BBQs were a common occurrence pre 'rona. The deck is still a great space to have people over safely, but in general we're each limiting the people we interact with outside the house, so we're also looking for someone that enjoys living with other people, and who relates well to all the housemates.
The house is older, in a very nice, quiet neighborhood in West Menlo Park (close to the Dutch Goose, pizza, and Starbucks), with a deck and a view of the valley. The unfurnished room is 11' x 12' with hardwood floor, corner windows, and a good-sized closet. You will be sharing a bathroom, with shower and bathtub, with one other person. There's a large dining/living room; a good-sized kitchen with a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, shared cookware, etc. We generally cook separately, but keep the space clean for each other. The house has a washer & dryer, and room for additional storage.
Rent is $919/month, plus $133 for utilities, wi-fi internet, Netflix, and twice-monthly housecleaning. Deposit is $680. We're looking for a non-smoker to move in any time in September.
We understand everything's a little more unpredictable these days, and the rent is month-to-month, though we prefer someone for longer-term (a year or more). Due to corona, we're doing visits online these days. If interested, please email via the craigslist link at top and tell us about yourself and what you're looking for in a house. We look forward to hearing from you!
