We're looking for a new housemate to move into a laid-back, intentional community house in leafy Atherton, CA, on Feb 1st.
WHO WE ARE: 10 people total counting you. We're a diverse, LGBTQ/allied group of young professionals with hobbies as cooks, musicians, artists, and builders. We like people who bring community, adventure, and growth into their lives and the lives of those around them.
WHY: We've each lived in homes that have brought out our best traits, making us more engaged, creative, reflective, challenged, and weird, and we've each lived in places that didn't. It matters. We work to build a community that feels like family and brings out the best in each other.

HOUSEMATES AND LIVING: Housemates are mostly in non-tech but tech-adjacent fields (e.g. ed tech, food tech, NASA, brains); the house is not a hacker house, a rationalist co-op, a hippie commune, or a cult.
Things we enjoy doing together include community dinners with friends, making things in our garage woodshop, spending evenings making music or playing board games in our comfy living room.
We buy some groceries collectively - mostly basic staples. We have one house dinner a week.
HOUSE: It's huge. A one-story house on a sprawling lot, with a 50 ft long living room, a big kitchen, a 4-car garage we use as a woodshop, a pool and hot tub, a tennis court, gardens, courtyard, fire pits, and lots of outdoor parking.
LOCATION: Atherton, CA; a 10 minute bike ride to downtown Menlo Park and a Caltrain station, and a 20 minute bike to Redwood City, Stanford University, and downtown Palo Alto.
ROOM AND PRICE: The room is 15x10 ft and is adjacent to a semi-private lounge/study, an enormous master bathroom with a sauna and large jacuzzi, and our beautiful garden. There is some flexibility in room configurations. Different configurations range from about $1,495-$1,850 rent. In addition, you’ll pay a $135 flat fee which covers your utilities and some basic food staples.
We have lived in this house for a year, and will be staying through at least September 1, 2019. We will give preference to applicants who intend to stay for a full year or more. Sorry, we aren't able to allow smokers or pets.
